FF8 is the most epic FF of all

Man, I love this video. I've come back to it a number of times now, it's just fun to watch. I remember being way too excited watching it the first time, when you placed certain titles exactly where I hoped. I love FF, all of it, and I'm glad you do too. I think it makes this video and your channel special. The idea of taking each game and appreciating it for what it is, is really nice. You might say to play through the entire series with such an open and appreciative mind would be an "Optimystic quest" :D But really, this series is just so beautiful and magical to me, and I love the under appreciated ones so much! II, VIII, XI, and now XVI! They're wonderful. As someone who tried release order and got burnt out once upon a time, I also think this might really be the perfect order to play them all in. I'm going to try it myself, as soon as I finish up XVI. I think it'll be a fantastic experience.

I don't know if I can forgive you for Dancing Mad at #2 EDIT: Now don't ever say I'm not willing to challenge my biases. I went and gave The Extreme a fair chance, and while it's a solid FF boss track, it stands on the same level as, say, FF3, FF4, FF5. Hearkens back to those halcyon days of straightforward-yet-earwormy battle themes. But in no way, under no circumstances, by no measure does it hold a candle to the utter masterpiece, both in scope and in structure, that is Dancing Mad. You, sir, are the one who is dancing mad for putting such a sincere work of art at 2nd place. Apologize.

I hear Mog doesn't die if you pick the Gold Hairpin, just delays his receuitment to the World of Ruin. Despite being heartless to choose the item over Mog, it would also prevent him from learning Water Rondo unless you're playing the GBA version.

Battle with Gilgamesh is the best battle theme in final fantasy history.

Ff4 my favorite hands down

IV is the pinnacle for me. The way it shifts gears as it goes is just so awesome. When it came out you had never heard anything like it in a video game.

FF2's boss theme sounds Middle Easternish because of where Palamecia is and there are middle eastern characters like Minwu.

I think we have similar tastes. I also do prefer the fun battle themes over the serious intense ones

The best ones are from sequels and spin-off like XIII-2 and Type-0 final boss themes.

The hardest 5 to think of. My top 5 would be 5. Waltz For The Moon 4. Balamb Garden 3. The Extreme 2. Liberi Fatali 1. Fragment of Memories

Honestly, I wouldn't recommend it this way, I appreciate the sentiment.. but in high school I tried to get a guy to play FF7 and he wouldn't do it because of the graphics and the reading.. he did play FFX though and loved it. I was heartbroken but at least he played a Final Fantasy.

FF XII aimed at grandeur and more mature, political storyline and I loved it for it. Orchestral sountrack only added to this feeling. I was actually avoiding overleveling my party in order to be forced to plan tactically and prolong battles so I could hear the Boss theme for longer ;)

with XVI released, we now have a full understanding of it’s art. it depicts the clash of eikons but more subtly the tragic fate of the sons of fire.

After playing Skyrim sometime after its release in 2011, I was looking for other games in the RPG genre and was recommended Final Fantasy XIII. Despite paying for all of them, not a single Final Fantasy game has compelled me to play the entire thing--aside from this one.

Still going through my first playthroughs and honestly, playing in order has worked for me. Well, except I started with 15 when that came out. This order works because it gets 2 out of the way, and you obtain an early understanding that these games can and will differentiate. Only games I've struggled with were 8, because it just wasn't interesting, and 10 because I just couldn't keep up with the difficulty. Soured that game for me permanently. Currently on 13 and, well, the first hour fails to catch my attention. Ngl, this one looks awful.

How I crave for Mobius to be remembered and to be on a private server. One of my all time favs for a mobile game is not even refrenced and I would love to see it so.

I honestly feel like every soundtrack in the main series improved on the one before it, up until FF10, which I don’t think was anywhere near as good as FF9’s.

A world Map theme so good, it was reused in FF14, as part of the main theme for Shadowbringers, and became the theme tune for Gra'ha Tia (I feel like I spelled his name wrong). Eternal Wind (for me at least) is the best world map theme of any Final Fantasy game. It makes me smile, and cry, whenever I hear it. I got the chance to hear the Distant Worlds symphony orchestra play it live in the Royal Albert Hall, two years ago, and it pulled on my heart strings, almost immediately.

I feel I am in a minority with my love for Nascant Requiem

4 will always have a special place in my heart as my first time hearing it was against Culex in Super Mario RPG.

I'd say Saber's Edge has the *edge* over Force Your Way but the others you placed over it are just as good or slightly below it. Also, where's Premonition, or The Extreme? Eight had multiple Boss Themes.

I agree that FF4 has the best soundtrack. I would have said FF1, FF6 has the second and third.

I really thought The Dark Messenger and overworld theme from ff9 alone would have elevated it to top 5 but I really respect your selections. I am playing 2 pixel remastered now and I see the hype. The song you chose from 1 is also my favorite.

Not gonna lie was about to break out the pitch forks because for 13 I always had it in my head that Born Anew was the final boss theme, honestly completely forgot that it didn’t play through Orphan phase 2.
